What is Chiropractic?

​Chiropractic is a healthcare discipline which emphasises the inherent recuperative and regenerative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery.

The practice of Chiropractic focuses on the relationship between the structure (primarily the SPINE) and function (as coordinated by the NERVOUS SYSTEM) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health.

Your Chiropractor is specifically trained to examine you for the presence of spinal misalignments also called vertebral subluxations.

 Chiropractors will use a safe and effective Chiropractic adjustments to restore, proper spinal movement, correct your subluxation and removed nervous system interference

Doctors of Chiropractic recognize the value and responsibility working in cooperation with other healthcare practitioners when in the best interest of the patient.

Chiropractors are leaders in wellness and often emphasise to their patients the value of nutrition, exercise, mental health, health, and addition to physical parent care provided in the office.

What is a Chiropractic adjustment?

A Chiropractic adjustment typically involves a high velocity low amplitude thrust applied to a specific vertebra with the goal of restoring proper motion and relieving pressure on the nervous system. There are many different adjustment techniques used by Chiropractors. Your chiropractic will determine the appropriate techniques needed for you.

What is a Chiropractic Vertebral Subluxation?

The Vertebral Subluxation Complex is a Chiropractic specific term which is a dysfunction of the joints between the bones of your spine, the vertebra. The dysfunction compromises the normal function of your nerves and can influence and affect your overall health and well-being.

What causes a vertebral subluxation?

There are many factors that can cause the Vertebral Subluxation Complex. Trauma from a car accident, slipping, improper lifting, jolts, or strains are common causes. Sustained postures (e.g sitting, sleeping, standing all day), repeated motion common to the workplace, inadequate sleep, improper exercise, poor diet and emotional stress are all factors that can gradually wear down parts of the spine and lead to a vertebral subluxation.Vertebral Subluxations can occur at any time throughout one's life. Chiropractors are trained and experienced at detecting, reducing, correcting and preventing vertebral subluxations.

Is Chiropractic safe?

Chiropractic is a non-invasive drug-free discipline that the risks associated with the treatments are very low. Adverse events are rare, and your Chiropractor will assess you individually for any risks before commencing care.
